To make the body of the purse, start by sewing together opposite ends of the strap using Kitchener stitch. Do not turn your work.
Next row: Ch1 (=sc), work 8sc evenly down strap length (=outer side of purse). Fasten off and weave in ends.
Round 1: With right side facing, join yarn in first sc, work 2sc into same st, *skip next sc, work 2sc into next sc; repeat from * around. (12 sc)
Round 2: Ch1, turn, work 2sc into first sc, *work 1dc into next sc; repeat from * around. (18 dc)
Round 3: Ch1, turn, work 1dc into each of the first 2sc, *work 2dc into next sc; repeat from * around. (24 dc)
Round 4: Ch1, turn, work 2dc into first dc, *work 1trc into next dc; repeat from * around. (30 trcs)
Round 5: Ch1, turn, work 1trc into each of the first 3dc, *work 2trc into next dc; repeat from * around. (36 trcs)
You now need to start working on the fringe. Place a strand of yarn over one trc and pull up tight. You now want to do this with every trc on round 5. Fasten off and weave in ends.
To finish the purse, sew the ends of the strap together. Sew the outer edge of the purse to the drawstring bag.

Round 1: Start with an HDC in the first 2 stitches, SC in next 11 stitches, CH1 and turn – 12 (or your desired number) sts.
Round 2: SC evenly around – do not join to form a round.
Rnd 3: CH1 and turn; Working into the top of each ST from previous round, DC into each DC; *SC into next ST, DC into next ST; rep from * around; Join to form a circle – 24 (or your desired number) sts. Fasten off CC and leave long tail for sewing later on down bag body.
Purse Body:
With CC still working yarn, start by making an adjustable loop in the middle of the CC. *HDC in next ST, work 2 DC into next ST; rep from * around – 6 (or your desired number) sts. Work 1 SC into each of the remaining sts. Fasten off and weave in ends.

6. Turn the bag so that the wrong side is facing out, and start crocheting along the top edge of the bag with DK weight yarn. Work 1 ch from hook, and then work 8 dc in each st across the top edge of the bag. Join with a sl st to first ch, and finish off. Weave in any loose ends.
