Star Blanket Crochet Pattern: Making a star with double crochet

Star blanket crochet pattern is a fun and easy crochet project that can be completed in just a few hours. This crochet blanket features a star-shaped pattern worked in double crochets. The finished blanket is soft and cozy, perfect for snuggling up on cold winter nights.

To start the project, you will need to make a magic ring. (See below for instructions on how to do this.)

Once your magic ring is complete, begin by working 12 double crochets into the center of the ring. (Remember to pull your yarn through both loops on the hook before pulling it through the last loop on your hook.)

Then work 2 more double crochets in each stitch around the edge of the ring. (Make sure to join your new stitches with a slip stitch so that your blanket has a consistent look from end to end.)

Finally, sl st into the first double crochet made in the magic ring, and chain 1 to close off the round. You’re done! Now you can begin stitching your star blanket together using either straight or spiral stitches. (See below for instructions on how to do this.)

Making a star with triple crochet

Star Blanket Crochet Pattern:Are you looking for a quick and easy crochet project? Then try out this star blanket crochet pattern! You will need triple crochet stitches to create this pattern. Star blanket instructions are included so that you can create your own unique design.

This is a very simple crochet project that uses just three stitches: triple crochet, single crochet, and chain stitch. You will start by creating a foundation chain of 20 rounds. Next, work the first round of triple crochet in the same stitch as the chain stitch.

Remember to insert your hook into the first loop on the hook, yarn over, and pull through both loops on the hook (3 double crochets made). Continue crocheting in this manner around the blanket until you reach the end of the round.

For round 2, skip the first loop on your hook and work double crochet in each remaining loop around. Finish off with a slip stitch in the top of the first triple crochet of round 1 (5 double crochets made). Do not join rounds 1 and 2 together; they are just separate rounds of this star pattern.

Round 3 starts with a chain 1 space in between each of round 2’s double crochets. Work triple crochet in each of these chains (6 triple crochets made). Finish off by Slip Stitching into last triple crochet from round 3 (1 slip stitch made). We now have our first point or star formed!

Joining the stars

How to Crochet a Star Blanket:

Starting with a foundation chain of 120 ch, make 6 star points.

Rnd 1 (RS): Chain 4, turn. (3dc, ch 2) in first st, *skip 2 sts, 3dc in next st; rep from * to last st, skip 2 sts. Join with slst to top of beginning ch-4.

Rnd 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc here and throughout), dc in same st as join, *ch 2, skip 1 st, dc in next st; rep from * to end. Join with slst to top of beginning ch-3.

Rep Rnds 1 and 2 until blanket is desired length or desired star point count is reached. Fasten off yarn and weave in loose ends.

Tips for working star crochet

If you’ve never worked in star crochet before, here are a few tips for getting started.

1. Work a chain of the desired length (in this case, 16).

2. Make a slipknot and place it on the wrong side of your work (the side with the hook).

3. Chaining two stitches together, make a single crochet in the top of the slipknot.

4. Yarn over and pull through both loops on your hook—your first star has been created! Chain two more stitches and do the same thing to create another star. You’ll continue crocheting like this until your blanket is finished.

How to make a blanket using star crochet

To make a blanket using star crochet, follow these simple steps:
1. Chain 190 (or the desired length).
2. Work 3 dc in first chain to form a ring.
3. Work 2 dc in each of the next 12 chains, then work 1 dc in each of the remaining chains.
4. Finish off and weave in end.
