How to make a Crochet Angel Wings

If you’re looking for a crochet angel wing pattern for your holiday decor, look no further! These wings can be made in any color or style, and are perfect for adding some extra cheer to your Christmas tree or mantle.

The wings are made out of a simple crochet chain stitch pattern, with additional stitches used to create the “flairs” on the wingtips. You will need just a few basic supplies to make these angel wings: a size G crochet hook, worsted weight yarn (4 different colors), and an E sized safety eyeshadow (or other small object to act as a hanger).

To begin

Chain 30 (or any desired length) and form a loop with the yarn. Work 3 sc into the loop, then continue working single crochets until the end of the chain. Turn the work so that it is facing away from you and slip stich across both loops of the starting chain to join them together. Make sure that your newly joined sc is now at the top of your work.

Work 1 dc into each of the next 8 sc across the top of your work. Now move down one sc from where you just made your last dc, and make another dc into that same st. Continue working in this manner until you reach the end of your work- yourdc will now be at the bottom of your work. Slip stich across both loops of this final ch to join it together. Be sure not to pull too tight on the stitches- you just want to hold them in place.

Now it’s time to add the flair to your wings! Chain 3 (or any desired length), then work a dc into the first 2 sc, then sl st into the third sc. Make sure that your flair is now pointing in the direction that you want it to go. Repeat these steps across the top of your wing, then do the same thing on the other side.

Finally, attach your safety eyeshadow hanger by slipping it through one of the flair stitches on either side of your wingtip. Weave in any loose ends, and you’re ready to display your crochet angel wings!
